Gyeol: Haein Choi Solo Exhibition

Gyeol is a Korean word that refers to the texture, grain, and flow formed through accumulated layers of time and emotion.
In my first solo exhibition, I layered elements of nature with traditional Korean paper (hanji) on canvas to visualize these traces of time and emotional rhythms

The exhibition invited viewers to pause amid their fast-paced lives and reconnect with their own memories and feelings

In Korean, we say two people “share the same gyeol” when they have a natural affinity. Likewise, I hoped the gyeol within my work—shaped through slowly layered moments—would resonate with viewers and align with their own
